If you look at this picture careful enough, you will see a faint moon in the sky. Mystical.

A few days ago, I received a text from Scoot Airlines notifying us on our flights status. Sector on from Singapore to Athens (and back) are cancelled.

To be honest, deep inside me, I've always known, since the start of the global lock down, this year's climbing trip to Kalymnos is at stake. Though we thought, we'd hold onto this wishful thinking, for as long as we could: maybe miracles will happen!

I was still ignoring this text until the email from Scoot came. (A side note, I am well impressed with Scoot's operational execution, everything was clearly explained, well set up, extremely easy for customers to take follow up actions. I will be a patron of Scoot from now on).

I starred at the email for a couple of days. It is generous of Scoot to offer a 120% value if refund with credits, or a 100% value if refund with cash. Both options are (more than) fair given they are also hit by this unfavourable pandemic circumstance (I hope they will weather this storm). However, no matter how generous they are, I just couldn't possibly bring myself to click on any of the options. I couldn't do it. I started a count down to this year's Kalymnos trip at D-day minus 312 days, I got down to 84 days! Now I have to break up with it and it took a lot more emotions out of me than I thought! Heart broken.

Today, I had a major breakthrough. I won't talk about the details as the superstitious side of me thinks I would jinx it, though I am too excited so I want to capture it down. The first chapter in my #timeoutwonder is starting to take shape, I have set a budget for it and the progress today has allowed me to believe that it really will happen! Thank you Irene.

Just like everything in life, the end only marks a new beginning. Count down clock is reset, mind and soul is realigned, D-day minus 400+ days, here we go again!
