Whenever I wait for my drink at a coffee shop, I would spend the waiting time day-dreaming about being one of those entrepreneurs/freelancers who work anytime any where. To surround oneself with a cosy and pleasant environment must be positively stimulating for the creative part of the brain.

When I started Midlife Wonders, I created this experience for myself, writing most of the posts in a coffee shop. I even wrote about how thrilled I was with that first taste of experience #FallingInLoveWithThisNewStage. I thought, one day, if I leave the Corporate world and I get into this line of work, this is how I would live my life.

Little did I know, with this intention anchored in, I have subconsciously charting the change towards this way with my current role.

Grateful with the agile work arrangement, I started working in coffee shops and realised the level of good stimulation has nurtured a clear mind. Clear thinking is something essential for the nature of the new challenge with work.

With this new found experience, I took the exploration further and signed up a membership with a co-working space chain in town. Not only this has allowed me to further maximise the creativity capacity, it has also given me the environment that allows me to be absolutely laser-focused.

Some may wonder, so you enjoy the work environment and the agility being able to work anywhere and anytime, but what's so great about this? What I have discovered, is this laser focus has meant my head is fully occupied by this one project, all I wanted to do is do keep going back to it and make it better and better, even during the evenings, even during weekends. I discover the importance of how by having an enjoyable work environment will cultivate the passion one has for work, which ultimately only leads to better quality of performance.

This discovery is hugely relevant to the work I am doing, but also relevant to the build up of Midlife Wonders: I know this is how I would like to work, how I would like to live going forward. Stay on course, stay true to what gives you the passion and joy.
