Getting married... Chapter 5

Just as we thought Chapter 5 would be the finale, Malaysia announced two days ago, we will walk into the country's second MCO (full lock down) in certain states, including ours. This two-week lock down is scheduled to end on 26th January 2021, the day before our ROM.

We are not going to speculate if this lock down will get extended (it did multiple times last round, from two weeks to three months), as that would just be too sad and stressful. Now that we have done all the necessary preparation for it, will let nature takes its flow - I shopped online for my outfit on the 9th (fingers crossed it will arrive on time) and Shang got his within an hour the day before the lock down - looking at how things turned out relatively smoothly on this front, we tell ourselves, at least something is going right!

At the end of last year, the government also announced the country's borders will remain shut for another three months, to 31st March 2021. This means we will have to postpone our wedding party for the third time: from 4th October 2020, to 24th January 2021, to 4th April 2021, to TBC...., let's see, I cannot be so sure anymore.

From not planning to have anything major, to now feeling pretty adamant that we must have one: it is very important, now more than ever, to have an occasion to bring families, friends and loved ones together. Rather than feeling defeated by the pandemic era, we will look at it as a blessing, marking this celebration that we will eventually have even more meaningful. C'est la vie.
