Arriving at the start of the journey

Six months ago, I started figuring out what is it that I would like to have happen. After some crazy brainstorming with myself, I have launched a change journey for myself at the age of 40. Midlife Wonders was created as the overarching governance structure to help me achieve my ultimate goal in life through the seven Wonders.
Midlife Wonders is the anchor to this change journey for me to: Stay on track to transform my work-life balance so that I can live my life in a wholesome and heart full way.
Taking a moment to check in, I noticed I have made some significant progress with the seven wonders in the past six months. Though I would be happier if I could make more progress with #WonderswithMama and to also spend more time with my beloved sister. I miss our 拍拖 time.
Over the past week, two significant events took place contributed greatly to the milestone check and I think they deserved a mentioning on MW.
Welcome to my first car: Mini Clubman

I have always been a driving enthusiast. I enjoy the fun of driving especially when taking it around corners. We used to drive past the mini production plant in Cowley when we do our weekend grocery shopping at the bigger Tesco just outside the Oxford town. I would always be admiring the colourful mini car bodies hanging to air-dry after getting a body paint. I wanted one. Twenty years later, when I decided to get my own car, I instantly knew what to key into SatNav before arriving at the mini showroom.
It was a real contemplation choosing the colour:
Thunder Grey was initially my choice as it is understated and subtle, but is that the right choice for a fun and cheerful mini?
white is always my default choice but not the mini Pepper White, just looks dirty
Melting Silver is a safe colour but boring...
Indian Summer Red was the colour I decided NOT to check out the moment I saw it on the colour list. Red? Not me. Not until I saw it in the showroom I was captured by its vibrancy. While dancing between the options, one key final push factor helped me with the decision, this coral red is one of the Midlife Wonders colours! There is no better metaphor to start the journey of wonder.
Took her home on 23rd November and have been going around town with her with a grin on my face (I hope she was smiling too... ). Though I would also like to take the chance to say a big thank you to the Honda Accord 2.0 that has been staying with me past five years - good job, and now you can take a well deserved break.
Welcome to my new work space

One of the main reasons for me to embark on Midlife Wonders is the desire to strike healthier work-life balance. One of the catalyst to achieve that is to have a different role/job with a more flexible work nature that allows me to focus on other important things in life. With a lot of blessings, things worked out well and I have started a new appointment, set up in a way that allows me to continue channel my energies towards a passion area with work, whilst chartering a new start to those other important things identified in life.
With more and more of the Wonders taking shape, I am going to remind myself, it is important to get going and make progress, but it is equally as important to start enjoying the joy this journey will bring, to me and to my family.
