You cannot do sport climb alone without a partner, we all know that. But today, I figured, apart from your belay partner, we have all been climbing with another silent partner - our chalk bag!

We have not been able to climb with powder chalk in our local gym. Only liquid chalk is allowed.
Climbing without it in the past 1.5 weeks has made me realise, our chalk bag is more than just a bag that holds chalk to dry up our sweaty hands and give us better grip. It is more than a fashion statement.

Chalk bag has quietly became the place where our hands would bring our minds to, when we have passed a demanding stretch or a crux. It has quietly became a milestone check for us to regulate our breathing before the next stretch or next crux. It is our quiet safe haven when we fight on the wall alone.
I have never appreciated such intimate relationship I have developed with my chalk bag. I can't wait for her to join me again on those future projects.
Lily, hang in there, before you know it, we will be climbing together !
