This time, it was just the three of us without Shang Shang. Of course it felt like a part of me was missing, but on the flip side, this was a trip down the memory lane, returning to the same place with the same people, to celebrate at the birth place of my climbing passion.
By now, I think Mum and Up have been to Krabi more than a handful times, and for me this was the third time visiting the place. We know the drill:
No more than 3 sets of climbing clothes, important to bring those you can wash while you are in the shower using your shampoo and body wash and are quick to dry
One set of PJs
One set of travel outfit
Maybe, if you really fancy it, one more set of casual wear but it really is not necessary, as after the afternoon climb, you head back to shower, change into tomorrow's outfit and head out for dinner, back to hotel and shower again then PJs into bed
Full set of climbing gear and must try to bring a light cotton gauze cover up (or buy it there for 50 baht) as the sun does get very strong, especially in Tonsai
This is the first time I feel I finally caught up to UP's level and we were able to project together and enjoy the route and crux. It was so so much fun. Though we were climbing the same route, but my ability to read routes and to work out my own betas was still far behind UP's, so it was mainly him helping me to 拆招 haha! I think he enjoyed that too though.

June is the birthday month of Mum and UP so we also celebrated their birthdays together where I got WonderMama a matchy matchy leather bracelet: hers is red and fuchsia pink, mine is tan and green. Love it and wearing it while I write this.
I left after four days while they stayed on another a few more. I remember how they took me to the pier where I boarded the long tail boat. Blob blob blob, the boat sailed off, and I was standing on the boat, turning back and waving goodbye to them felt like I had to say goodbye to Mum for the first time on my first day at 民生幼稚園 (my kindergarten) when I was four. I remember how I refuse to move, until they shut the doors I was still standing there. I was looking for Mum through that tiny gap between the two doors and there she was, also still standing there waving goodbye to me. Tears was streaming down my face, until the Headmistress came and said. "we wave one last time to Mum then we move inside okay?", my 扁嘴鴨 face nodded and I did exactly what I promised. My 扁嘴鴨 face comes right back as I write this full of fondness.
It has been 444 days since I last saw Mum and UP, really hope that pandemic will be under control soon and we can have our much overdue reunion with them, and with my beloved sister and Kz, at our new home!!!
